Animal Control 


The Town of Penetanguishene currently has a contract for animal control services with Huronia Animal Control who has provided this service to the Town on a contractual basis for 33 years.

What Every Dog Owner Should Know

Dog Tags

Every Dog Owner in the Town of Penetanguishene is required to obtain a dog license from the Town of Penetanguishene before the 28th of February of every year.

ANNUAL DOG TAG RENEWAL 2013 

The 2013 Dog Tags are now available! Dog owners are reminded that it’s time to renew your dog’s municipal dog tag. For your convenience, tags can be obtained at the following locations:

• Townhall, 10 Robert Street West, during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday).

• Penetanguishene Library, 24 Simcoe Street, during regular business hours (10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday).

• By contacting Huronia Animal Control at 549-2289.

• The Pet Shoppe 175 Main Street (Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.).

• Friends Furrever 29 Main Street (Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). 

Please complete the renewal form attached and return in person with payment and a certificate that the dog(s) has been inoculated with an anti-rabies vaccine to one of the above noted locations (Renewals will not be accepted by mail).

$15.00 per license prior to February 28, 2013
$30.00 per license from March 1 to December 31, 2013 

Please note that there is a maximum of two (2) dogs permitted per dwelling unit.
